Welcome to the Run West Cork Web Site
The West Cork Running Festival for St Patrick's Day 2011
On St Patrick’s Day, 17 March 2011, we have organised a Running Festival based around the picturesque village of Ballydehob in West Cork.
Run West Cork will feature:
• 10 kilometre road race
• Events and activities for children
Funds raised from the events will go to local school and community initiatives and national charities.
The course will start in Ballydehob, heading out along the coast run to Rossbrin beside Roaringwater Bay with its many islands, and then returning to the village again. We have done our best to make sure that there is as little main road running as possible so that you can not only enjoy the run but also the landscape and coastline of this unique part of County Cork.
This could be ideal training if you are thinking of entering the Ballycotton ‘10’ the following week!
Full details are still being finalised, so please bookmark this page and visit us again for updates. If you would like to be informed by email when online registration and booking is up and running, then please send us your contact details through our Pre-register Page.
For those of you that are not local runners, we’d like to point out that there’s a lot more to this part of West Cork than running, of course, and so we have included on our site information about this beautiful and fascinating part of Ireland as well as details of Bed and Breakfast establishments and holiday accommodation. Why not make a week of it? Time before the event to prepare, time afterwards to relax, and plenty of things to do for the non-runners.
